We begin Holy Week Sunday with a remembrance of Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem to cries of Hosanna, and Noah Despinasse will preach from Matthew 7! This will be our last week at Birmingham School of Law -- grateful for the season to grow in fellowship and worship in this space!
Al Dayhoff, author of Church in a Blues Bar and God & Tatoos will bring his tattoo researching to Birmingham. I will be there in my collar! So, come grab lunch in the Food Hall that Sunday, and come listen in to the stories people share. We doing this to practice our listening. Everyone who tells their story gets an autographed copy of Al's book on Tattoos.
Save the date if you're up for a road trip to Winston-Salem, N.C.! "Union" is a Hamilton-like musical about the 1968 Sanitation Worker strike in Memphis. A friend co-wrote this with Sho Baraka and serves as a catalyst for conversations in each city where it's held. We are exploring bringing this to Birmingham! Price will include tickets, your travel, and hotel. More specifics coming!
